After a few days in CT we all went back to Joburg, where we stayed for just a couple of more days before the others flew home to Sweden and I went to Durban to visit Mark and try and get some surfing done.
I stayed a few days with mark in his apartement just by the water and the rest of the days at Ethekwini Backpackers, same hostel I stayed at last time I was there (jan2007).
After a few days of wind and choppy waves we finally had a good day of surfin! Didnt get any photos, since I didnt wana bring my camera to the beach due to the crime situation. But I had an awesome time, no doubt!

Went to Cape Town, down in the south west. Stayed in a small town on the coastline. Did a daytrip to some winerys, checked out Cape Point and I went to visit Dustin, a friend I worked with in Whistler, who lives in CT.

Went to this gamereserve in Madikwe to look for the Big 5ive!

Went down to South Africa over New years and stayed for a few weeks to visit my dad and some friends. Here’s from the first week, including New years eve celebration.

Saturday was a good day! Went to our local hill, GB, and tried this new kicker we built the day before.. Wasn’t so much about jumping over the fence, more about handling the flat landing haha.. It was a really fun jump! hoping to try it out more later on and try some more tricks.

Later that day we went to robert, who had invited us for wine, crackers and cheese. We made it an italian night, lots of Eros Ramazotti and Gianna Nanini was played haha (this must have been the highlight of the night http://open.spotify.com/track/3NiiqDV0lOXk2lVnZpMgcq) It was also per’s 29th birthday so we went clubbing when the time was right. Turned out to be one of the best days in a while!
The day after was the last day at our local hill. Went up riding, but was pretty lazy from the night before so didnt do many turns haha.. They still got lots of snow though and the kickers and boxes will still be there, even though they are closed, so Im hoping for some nice photo-sessions later on there when weather is good!

Guess thats all for now.. Heading for Ramundberget and piststilen next sunday (http://www.piststilenbyripcurl.se/), staying for a week. its gona be niiiice! but first im hoping for some good riding in Åre!

Bydalen is just 1h drive away from Östersund. Its a pretty small ski-resort but they get quite a lot of snow every winter and theres not many people riding there.. the only bad part about the place is this grumpy old man who refuses you to snowboarding without a (”safety”)leash on your board.. haha didnt know people bothered about that anymore.. We didnt have any season-pass for Bydalen this winter, but will probably buy one for next winter.. Its been great times!
